String Quilts

I am on a string quilt mode. There is something about sewing these random strips together and making a beautiful string quilt. I just finished the quilting on my 1930's string quilt.
I used cona cotton snow for the middle strips.
I think this red rose fabric for the backing is so pretty with the thirties strings. Nobody said I have to use thirties reproduction fabric on the back. I am making and breaking my own rules.
I am going to use this solid red fabric for the binding.
Seven months old Molly is testing out the new string quilt.
 I started another string quilt.
 A few finished blocks.
Untill later and happy quilting,
Millie

String quilts are one that I haven't done yet - you are inspiring me!! How do you get the white strips to line up so nicely?

I love string quilts, too, Millie. I'm crazy about this one with 30's fabrics. Very nice, indeed.

Your string quilts are so pretty. I like the way you used that rose fabric for backing. Rules are made to be broken aren't they?
Pretty pup, looks like she's going to be big when finished growing (I like big dogs).

Millie, your string quilts are so pretty. I've got one in process that I really need to get to work on and more strings than I can count! Your beautiful quilting, as always, makes your quilts even prettier!

I'm so jealous of your beautiful quilts! I wish I had the time to sew so much. I'm supposed to be off work today but I'm working for a co-worker who needed the day off to go to the doctor.

I used that method for my string quilt too, but my base blocks are blue. It's one of my favorite quilts that I have made. Your dog looks like a sweetie! I am a foster mom for guide dogs for the blind and each one brings me such joy. Love your blog! xx debbie
