String quilts

This is a happy quilt in spring/summer colors like pink, blue, green and purple. I quilted this String-X quilt a month ago and never found time for the binding. I used Bonnie's tutorial over here.
It's not spring yet, but because of this color scheme it feels like spring . The binding is sewed on and I can't wait to get the hand sewing done.

I also worked on a few more string blocks. These string blocks started out big enough for a twin size, but it's growing now so it'll soon fit a queen size bed.

Another scrappy quilt I am working on, a pink and green quilt made from 5" squares. This top went so fast and has a real cottage charm. I dont think I'm going to add a border. Do you think I should?
Thank you so much for your visit. Do you enjoy making quilts from your scraps?
String quilts are defintetly my favorite quilts to make.
Smiles,
Millie

Wow, you have come up with more beautiful quilts. What did you decide about a border? I think it would look fine with or without. Can't wait to see them all quilted and bound.

woooo so happy I found your blog Millie. I love your happy string quilts. I am 78 and my grandmother made many, many string quilts. I have a number of her already made blocks found in a drawer after she died. I sew well but have never ¨quilted¨a quilt.....the blocks are in the style you called your Pink and green quilt...strips sewn diagonally on the block....I have enough of these blocks to make a babe quilt for my first great grandson to be born in April........Alas! I do not know how to do the quilting. Can you help me or give me an idea? I can send photos...I live in Mexico now and there is just no advice available here.......Hopefully I will hear from you and thank you. Jeannie
