Finished Strip Twist Quilt

My Strip Twist quilt is finally done. It is a little too busy for my taste, but I am sure this quilt will find a good home. One thing I am so proud of myself is that I made this quilt from my scraps and did not buy any new fabric.

 I used a lot of the leftover fabric from these three quilts in the Strip Twist.

More leftover fabric for a half block flowery String quilt.

 My goal this year is to make quilts from my scraps and strings. I do enjoy to make quilts from strings.

 And the last picture below is a Star and String quilt from batiks. I found this free tutorial on Mary's blog. If you enjoy doing power sewing like me, then you will love her free scrappy patterns.

Rail Fence and Strip Twist Quilt

 I finished the binding on my Rail Fence Quilt. I only wished I made the quilt big enough for my bed.

 I started a new scrappy quilt using my 2.5" strips. I used Bonnie's Strip Twist tutorial over here.

 More strips need to be pressed.

 Here is another project I started. I used my Go Cutter circle die and cut 5" circles. I made one mistake and did not press the steam a seam on before I cut the circles. Double the work for me, because now I have to use a scissors again.

Wonky Butterfly and Rail Fence Quilts

 I have been working on two of my UFO's. The first quilt is a wonky butterfly and a four patch quilt for my youngest daughter. I made a border from the leftover scraps.

 I used one of my old cotton sheets as a foundation for the border.

 I really like how the quilting turned out.  I used a panto called "Bramble" from Kerryn Emmerson.

 I had this yellow and purple fabric in my stash and it is perfect for the backing on this quilt.

 I just finished the quilting and binding on my wonky Rail Fence quilt.

 I used a panto called "Hurricane" for the quilting. It gives such a nice movement on the plain background fabric.

 I had a huge piece of purple fabric and used it for the backing. I love to use what I have in my stash for backings.

My scrap boxes need some work, overflowing with leftover backing fabric and batting. I cut off all the leftover batting from the backing and organized in two different bins.

I am so ready for another string quilt.

Randomness

 I saw this very cute Moda Bakeshop tutorial here. I think the pattern is perfect for my very first Riley Blake jelly roll. I used white fabric with yellow dots for the background. I just finished quilting the top and I am so pleased at how pretty and easy this quilt came together.

  I wanted to accentuate the teal fabric and added a second border with these cute teal and white squares.

 A few years ago I bought a pack of 12 Raggedy Ann embroidered blocks at a quilt show. I did not want to make a traditional red and white quilt. I found this yellow fabric with red cherries in my stash -  perfect to go with the red Raggedy Ann's.

 Again to accentuate the yellow fabric, I added yellow yo-yo's. The yo-yo's also hid some of my "not so good lined up" red sashing strips.

 This is a picture I took outside, I love how the quilt wrinkled after the first wash.
 I used Hobbs 100% cotton batting.

 I am working on two new projects. A jelly roll quilt and a 1930's quilt.  Darlene's  pattern called "Just Between Friends" is perfect for my 1930's stash which I cut up in 2,5" strips.
