Pinwheel, scrappy and baby quilts

Happy September everybody. Wow, I can't believe the summer is almost over. We had a few very hot and humid days, but its perfect quilting weather. I finished my scrappy Pinwheel quilt. I really like this quilt and think I'm going to display it in my quilting room.

I found this cute stripe fabric in my stash for the binding. The sewing theme fabric on the back match perfect in my quilting room.

Lots of happy quilts

Thank you all for the lovely comments and for all of you that mentioned that you missed my blog posts. I have not been keeping up with my blog during this busy summer and I want too share all of the beautiful quilts I have worked on. There are so many happy quilts I made and quilted, however I unfortunately lost some of the pictures when I replaced my phone. I know I should always back up my pictures, but I didn't and regret it. :(

I quilted this beautiful pinwheel quilt for Michelle. The little prairie points on the border are such a happy touch.

The next two cute quilts were pieced by Caroline. I would like to eat a fresh strawberry just from looking at the cute strawberry blocks.

The soft yellow backing shows off the quilting pattern "Cafe du Monde" so well.

I quilted the blue and white quilt with " Bubbles" one of my favorite quilting pantos.

Jana loves making flying geese quilts. This is just one of the flying geese quilts I quilted for her. One of these days I am going to make a flying geese quilt myself. It is on my very, very long project to-do list.

I quilted this extremely cute 1930's reproduction quilt for Julie. It will make a nice baby quilt for a precious expected newborn girl.

I absolutely adore 1930's reproduction fabrics. And guess what else is on my project to-do list? This fun yet sophisticated dog pattern. 

My oldest daughter especially appreciates this quilt pattern because she recently received this little guy for her birthday. His name is Rolo, a nine week old Boston Terrier.

 His ears are finally beginning to perk up. Such a cutie!

Here is another beautiful flying geese I quilted for Jana. I love the blue, white, and a little touch of yellow color scheme.

And last but not least, Sally has made a pink and brown charm square quilt. I find it so calming and relaxing to look at, especially the bunny fabric square.

Two finishes and a few string quilts

 I hope you all are enjoying the warmer weather. I have been spending a lot of time in the garden, but you know I will always make time for quilting. 

 

I finished the purple basket quilt. I love how the quilt crinkled up after the first wash and dry. I know I said this a lot of times, but it is always such a great feeling seeing the quilt for the first time out of the dryer.

 Do you see all the different purple yo-yos? Well, I added them after I quilted the quilt to cover up the seams that did not want to line up nicely. I really like using little yo-yos.

 Here is my second quilt finished with leftover blocks. I like how it crinkled up; I love crinkled quilts. Here I go again about crinkled quilts...oops :)

 I really enjoy making string quilts. This is the butterfly string quilt I just quilted on my longarm for my youngest daughter. I used a good old stipple for the quilting.

Orange and purple are some of her favorite colors. I also added a few green, blue, and yellow strings. I like to use cona cotton snow for the background. This is probably the fastest string quilt that I have made and I like how it can look like bows too.

 A few more strings for a rectangle string quilt.

 I grabbed all the lighter colored strings from previous projects. 

 And this is the quilted string quilt. I used a cream colored fabric for the sashings.

For the border I used the pretty soft yellow fabric with pink flowers. 

 For the backing I was very tempting to use a colored back, but I went back to my usual cream colored fabric for the backing.
