More String Quilts

I have been digging into my string bin and is busy making a few more string quilts. Blue is my favorite color and my blue scrap box is overflowing with strings. I made this Rectangle String Quilt using Mary's free pattern here.

 These string blocks went a lot faster than my normal square string blocks.

I started this red, white and blue string quilt long before I started the previous blue string quilt which is now quilted too. Here I am busy adding a solid blue border.

 This is another string quilt I am working on...this is a wild quilt. Every piece of scrap is going in this quilt regardless of what color it is.

 I quilted my daughter's batik string quilt. She wanted leaves on her quilt.

 Remember my half string quilt blocks?...it is an oversized queen quilt. I am working on the binding and it feels like I am never going to get this one done.

String Quilts

 

 I've been on a string quilt crazy phase. My half string quilt blocks are now quilted. I used a panto called Featheration. My daughter picked the pattern and pink colored thread.

 

 Here's another string quilt I started in red, white and blue. I used an old sheet for the foundation and white solid fabric for the center strips. These blocks haven't been sewed together just yet.

 

 

Here's the first few blocks sewn together. I like to think I'm ahead of schedule rather than a month late for the Fourth of July.

 This bright quilt was a quilt made by Jana. I quilted it with a panto called Ebb and Flow.

 

I made this top for the American Red Cross raffle ticket fundraiser. And here's a few pictures of how the top looks after being quilted.

Finished Strip Twist Quilt

My Strip Twist quilt is finally done. It is a little too busy for my taste, but I am sure this quilt will find a good home. One thing I am so proud of myself is that I made this quilt from my scraps and did not buy any new fabric.

 I used a lot of the leftover fabric from these three quilts in the Strip Twist.

 My goal this year is to make quilts from my scraps and strings. I do enjoy to make quilts from strings.

 And the last picture below is a Star and String quilt from batiks. I found this free tutorial on Mary's blog. If you enjoy doing power sewing like me, then you will love her free scrappy patterns.

Rail Fence and Strip Twist Quilt

 I finished the binding on my Rail Fence Quilt. I only wished I made the quilt big enough for my bed.

 I started a new scrappy quilt using my 2.5" strips. I used Bonnie's Strip Twist tutorial over here.

 More strips need to be pressed.

 Here is another project I started. I used my Go Cutter circle die and cut 5" circles. I made one mistake and did not press the steam a seam on before I cut the circles. Double the work for me, because now I have to use a scissors again.
