For such a long time I wanted to make a pink and brown quilt. I misplaced my pattern, but I think the pattern is called the Basket Weave Quilt.
I added this wide border to make a waved edge, but after seeing the quilting I changed my mind. I really like how the quilting is showing in the border and I think I am going to leave the border just as it is.
I used a panto from Urban
Elementz and it is called Hyacinth.
My scrappy pink backing.
I quilted this black and white quilt for Paula. Her quilt is over 100" wide and long...just a beautiful quilt. She made the quilt for her daughter.
I quilted her quilt with the Bubbles panto.
Close up of the borders in white and black.
Paula also made a scrappy backing from all the leftover black and white fabrics.
Happy Quilting!

They are both very beautiful, Millie! I do love that basket weave... pinks and browns look very nice in that!

Two great pieces, I like your basket weave. Beautiful quilt lines!
ReplyDeleteMillie- I quilted the Hyacinth pattern today . I may be doing something wrong but mine has a lot of openness at the beginning and the end. I think I need to play around with it a little! Love both your quilts!
ReplyDeleteI just love it when you show your quilts by you and your customers...they are wonderful!!

I love both quilts.....two of my favorite color combinations! your quilting is so pretty...I can do all the fancy stuff, but almost always just stipple...probably because I can freehand it so easy...
ReplyDeleteI like the use of the stripe fabric in the Basket Weave quilt! It really makes the quilt.
ReplyDeleteHi Millie,

See me? I'm jumping up and down in sheer delight. First of all I find that I am in love with the panto from Urban Elementz called Hyacinth. Then of course there is this fantastic B & W quilt from Paula - so big! - with a great quilting job.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've every seen an icky job come out of your Quilting Studio my friend. I haven't seen my friend Max in a long while either. I mean, while I'm on the topic of things I haven't seen.
