I quilted Pat's Block of the Month Quilt '09. This quilt is form batiks with pieced and machine embroidered blocks. The quilting in pink thread shows off very nicely in the borders.
Close up of some of the blocks.
Muslin backing.
Backing with the "Curly Q" panto.
Sandy pieced the red and white Day and Night quilt.
We decided on the panto called "Curlz" in a tan colored thread.
Red and white borders.
Backing.
This is Linda's very first quilt. She used her son's school uniforms and made a quilt for him.
"Stars" panto and a close up of the blocks made from the school uniforms.
Millie, I love your quilts! But then - mine are not ornately wonderful either. I'm just not there yet, but I do enjoy looking at other people's beautiful quilts, and your quilting always add such depth to those ladies' work!
ReplyDeleteMillie..I think YOUR own Quilts are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI love looking at ALL the quilts and your lovely quilting motifs..very nice.
I'm in the midst of finishing up a quilt for a family member...I usually do free motion but MIGHT...try hand quilting this one...or stitch in the ditch around the large squares.
I'll post later on my craft blog.
Happy Quilting!
HOPE

ReplyDeleteHi Millie, my naam is Linda en ek woon in Suid-Afrika. Neem aan jy praat darem Afrikaans veral as jy in die Kaap groot geword het en jou familie nog daar woon. Jou masjienkwiltwerk is pragtig.
ReplyDeleteFirst off....I think YOUR quilts hanging there are FAB...and second....you do others quilts justice by the wonderful quilting you embellish with....swoops and curls and swirls...I love them all!
