I would like to share a few customer quilts I have worked on the last few days. This first beauty was pieced by my blogging friend Karen from Living Life at Leehaven. She is one of the first blogging friends I have made and her blog was and still is very inspiring to me. So when she asked me to quilt this reproduction quilt for her, I was so thrilled. But also scared...what if I messed up all her hard work.
We decided on the Featheration panto which is one of my favorite designs.
The picture below is a close up of her blocks and her perfect mitered corner.
Showing some of the backing fabric (on the left) which goes extremely good with the top.
It is always fun to quilt a t-shirt quilt. This one was pieced by Sue for her daughter.
Close up of the blocks and the stippel quilting.
The next fat quarter quilt was pieced by Gail. The pattern is in the book Happy Hour, Relax and Enjoy by Atkinson Designs.
I went with the Paisley panto and off set every other row with 25%.
Showing some of the backing fabric.
I quilt a lot of Red, White and Blue Patriotic quilts. This is a Block of the Month quilt pieced by Margie. Oops! Me and this computer never get along. With my daughter at school I couldn't figure out how to flip the picture (look at the basket in the top row-really the bottom).
Such lovely quilts! And such wonderful quilting! It must be a joy to get to have a hand in quilting these beauties! :0)

Happy sewing!
Hi Zlaty
ReplyDeleteThe backing on Karen's quilt is a printed piece of fabric and it goes so well with the top.
Smiles,

Hi Millie, thanks for sharing these gorgeous quilts! Your work is very humbling to me, I love it! Elaine
ReplyDeleteThey're all beautiful quilts! Love all the quilting designs you used.
ReplyDeleteOh, Millie, how beautiful. Do you do most of your work with pantos or do you have one of those computer thingies that you input a design into and your longarm "takes off". (sorry, I don't know what those "thingies" are called).
ReplyDeleteYou've been busy!!! Keeps you out of trouble right!?! lol!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous quilts! It must be a pleasure to see and work on so many different designs!
Your quilting, as per usual, is absolutely lovely Millie! 8-)

Millie, I love the quilt in your header. Is there a pattern for it, or did you design it yourself? It's been a long time since I went blog hopping. I am loving looking at everything I've missed on your blog the last couple of months.ooxx`jodi
ReplyDeleteMillie,
ReplyDeleteI am so, so pleased with my quilt. These photos are fantastic but can't do the real quilt justice. To see it and feel it up close and in person is just... divine!!! I'm so thrilled to bits as Julia says. I am now more motivated than ever before to get my next quilt done. I hit a creative road block with it but I'm trying to work thru it.
I love that T-shirt quilt you did. Amazing quilting with that and then onto that Sampler. Wow! Stars and Stripes panto is fantastic.
Also, just wanted to mention how creative it was to use that Paisley panto and off set that by with 25%. I mean, I don't fully understand that but I can see it visually and it's amazing.
You can do some amazing things!!!
Wow Millie, as usual great work!! The piecing on the 1st one is so perfect, congratulate your friend from me please!
ReplyDeleteTrienie
Stunnig works Millie! and my word, I don't know how you manage to do so much quilting, even with your machine! Keep well ;o)
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful quilts & your quilting just makes them perfect
ReplyDeleteHugs Janice
Millie
ReplyDeletewhat does it mean when you said "I set every other row at 25%" ?
I am curious now!

Karen's repo quilt is an eye catcher! I sure wish I knew her secret to perfect mitered borders! I've never made them but have an upcoming quilt that is begging to have them added to for the final 3 borders.... I may skip on over to her blog now and see if I can find any tutorial or tips. ;)
ReplyDeleteoh and I la,la,LOVE the backing fabric on Marty's quilt - the white with blue floral!!! I wish I could have some of that fabric for my "My Blue Heaven" quilt I have in progress!!!
Thanks for sharing your customer quilts on your blog!!
Love from Texas! ~bonnie
